The bluegills serve two purposes in the farm pond: a forage fish and terrific pan fish. We prefer Hybrid Bluegill to regular bluegill. The Hybrid Bluegill will grow extremely fast! Hybrid Bluegill will consume a commercial fish food in turn aiding its growth. Fingerlings that are stocked in the Spring of the year may potentially reach 1/2 lb by the fall, assuming they are adequately fed. Hybrid Bluegill will reproduce in ponds. The Hybrid Bluegill is 95% male. The increased male to female ratio assists in population control. Hybrid Bluegill can be stocked in March through November.
